Matildas was fantastic. Lovely 60th birthday with family tonight.Service fantastic. Owner very attentive and helpful.Food 100% fresh and beautiful.Highly recommend Matildas. First class all the way.
This restaurant is absolutely amazing, its a cute little place right in the water, with a lovely chef who males lovely soul food. We always feel welcome and always leave with huge smile. The atmosphere is great, but the staff and food are even better :) 5 star recommendation. The honey roast duck is absolutely beautiful and the presentation is just as good as the flavor
All meals 10/10 tonight! Our fifth time visiting and we cannot wait to return. Do not dismiss definitely worth visiting easily the best food in Nambucca Heads and the Coffs Harbour region.My mothers partner and I had Grilled fish from the special board and could not of been happier the fish and sides were cooked and dressed to perfection.My partner had the sirloin steak which he thoroughly enjoyed only wishing he had received more potato bake as it was so yummy! My mother had the garlic prawns, rice and salad which she loved.The food was so enjoyable and we are so happy we came tonight worth every cent!I recommend sitting outside and definitely SAVE ROOM FOR DESERT the best sticky Date pudding and Creme Brle!!!
One of few places open Christmas Eve, Matilda's had a specialised menu without the airs and graces. The relaxed atmosphere suited the fresh, local seafood menu.The fish of the day was perfectly cooked and goats cheese lasagna was well worth the price.We were pleasantly surprised and will visit next time we're near by.
We noticed that this place was marked as a "fine dining" restaurant so we visited. The prices were certainly so but the quality was not. We had some sort of steak and seafood combination on the plate and a serving of oysters. My medium steak was very tough - I had to saw through the meat and I could only force myself to chew through half of it. I like the mussel and scallops on the dish but I was very disappointed with the steak. The staff were very friendly though and so was the chef. The interiors are like old Australia with quaint water-coloured paintings of kookaburras and other Australian animals. It could definitely do with an update. As someone who eats out at good restaurants often, I know what I should be getting for $60 a head and unfortunately, this didn't meet our expectations. I still stick by lovely staff and chef - just pity about the food and interiors.
