The location of the accommodation was superb - directly facing a beautiful beach with glistening water. It was a shame we didn't have enough time to play with them. Reception was swift, we got the room we wanted, and we were welcomed and given local information. The apartment was clean, fresh and modern (which is why I chose this place - the other hotels/motels had old fashioned flowery bed covers and ugly interiors and old appliances). Even though we didn't use much of it, it gave me a great overall feeling and allowed me tp relax. I liked the firmness of the larger bed so my only tiny critique would be that the 2 singles in the second bedroom were too soft and 1 looked lumpy. But as my friend was happy to sleep there, it didn't impact me much. Great place!
If you are searching for a great place to stay with the loveliest couple in Nambucca heads, then LOOK NO FURTHER! Marcel Towers is really the place you wanna stay! It is run by a sweet, lovely couple who care deeply about their guests. I've been backpacking for over 2 months now and I didn't feel like posting a review until I stayed at Marcel Towers. Here is a few of the many things I liked about my stay: 1) They rent out kayas and snorkeling gear for free! Mind you, the cheapest boat shop charges you for 25 bucks an hour. So if you go for 4hours, like I did, you safe yourself ONE HUNDRED bucks! 2) The whole crew is really welcoming. You feel right at home, almost like visiting your parents or grandparents. I had got some problems with my transport. It was no problem for me to stay longer, they said. 3) The price you pay gives you a huge amount of living space. 4) Even the free Wi-Fi is better than I have seen yet. 5) The bed is so good, it feels like you're sleeping on clouds. 6) Another reason why they are so lovely; since they saw I was backpacking, they offered driving me to the bus station, which saved me 30min walking and a sore back. And there are many more things! Thank you Penny and Terry for a wonderful time!

Ants, ants and more ants. But they are all dead. On the kitchen top and floor, in the shower, in bedrooms. If you are lucky you'll find some of them alive and crawling.This place is cute. A cozy, retro-like apartment, feeling a bit more like home then a weekend get away. Do not get me wrong, it's a nice place to just sleep at night while during the day you make use of the river situated right in front, by swimming, kayaking, fishing or just admiring.Just personally having dead ants everywhere in plain sight was not something i felt welcomed to, especially for the price.Also just to add the sunsets are beautiful
